Pinellas County FL (St Petersburg and its suburbs) has a very nice system of county and municipal parks and green spaces. One thing that the city did well was, way back in the early 1900s, purchase all of the ocean-front property and turn it into public parks, protecting the shoreline and its view from condos and hotels. Now there is a very nice walking path running along the waterfront which runs from one park to another.
Some photos.
For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit. I am currently wintering in Florida.
