I, like many of you, like to keep my eyes on the bad guys just to see what they're up to. So, I signed up long ago (before the last election) to receive "supporter" emails from the GOP, specifically Ken Mehlman.
Now, today, I got one asking me to help guide their strategy this fall by completing a survey. This is the first time I've actually had a chance to have fun with (i.e. fuck with) them, as normally they take a very "top-down" approach and don't give a shit about what I think, but given this rare opportunity I'd thought I'd share in the mischief (below the fold).
Specifically, I'd like to make the best choices that will sabotage their plans by directing them to a strategy that will be most self-destructive. For example, I think that the more they reveal their xenophobic, racist tendencies by talking about the need for "immigration reform," the more certain we are to secure Latino voters for the next generation.
So, I'm asking for your help to make the rest of the decisions. This is too complicated for a poll, so I'll peruse your comments for answers. And you too can join in the fun by signing up for your own chance to answer the survey at : www.gop.com/survey/
Here's the body of the email and survey. Thanks for the input!
Dear "verasoie",
You've heard from us. Now, we want to hear from you.
As we formulate our strategy to win in November, we need your opinion. Enclosed in this e-mail is your official Republican Grassroots Voices Survey. Please take a moment to share your opinion on...
The most important priority facing our nation... why it's important that we retain our Republican majorities in November... how you'd like to get involved online... where you get your news... and anything else - by sharing your thoughts at the end of the survey.
Please be sure to return the survey as soon as possible. We will be sharing your thoughts with our leaders in Congress for their action. Your answers will be used to formulate a blueprint for victory in 2006 and 2008.
