On July 7th,
Jay Rosen called on the journalistic community to outcast Bob "Dueschebag of Freedom" Novak due to his involvement in the Rove-Plame case. In effect, to create "cell walls" around Novak for what happen to Judith Miller.
Rosen stated -
I, for one, have had it with Robert Novak. And if all the journalists who are talking today about "chilling effects" and individual conscience mean what they say, they will, as a matter of conscience and pride, start giving Novak himself the big chill.
Well then the first step in deploying this "big chill" and start Novak's outcast is for him to lose his biggest bullhorn for his bullshit and slime - CNN must fire him.
CNN President Jon Klein and CNN Newsgroup President Jim Walton continue to defend Bob Novak. They don't see any reason to send Bob packing.
Jon Klein stated -
"It would be awfully presumptuous of us to take steps against a guy and his career based on second, third, fourth-hand reporting."
Now this is not Scotty Boy rhetoric, this is Jon Klein, the head of what once was a respected news organization.
Jim Walton went on to said -
"as a news organization you stand up to the heat sometimes. We as a...journalistic organization need to be very careful about decisions we make and the influences to those decisions"
Okay, Jim and Jon, then why did CNN allow Eason Jordan to take so much heat and then forced to resign after making
negative comments about the War in Iraq?
Can we say double-standard? Some one that says that there are serious issues in Iraq with the questionable death of journalists is booted out the door and another person that says they are a journalist but starting to appear to be only a mouth piece for a corrupt administration that may have put American lives at risk is left on.
It is time for the Daily Kos community to call for CNN to Fire Bob Novak.
Here is one way to contact CNN. Please list any others you all may have.
