Am I wrong, or is there still a HUGE mystery at the heart of the Plame case? We still don't know the identify of the original "senior administration offical" who told Novak about Plame.
Here is what we know (and please correct me if I am wrong):
- Two senior administration officials told Novak that Valerie Plame was a CIA Operative Working on Weapons of Mass Destruction.
- Libby (and his attorney) have denied to the media that Libby was a source for Novak.
- Rove has essentially admitted that he was the second senior administration source, stating that he told Novak (through his attorney) that "I heard that too," when Novak told him what he had heard about Valerie Plame being in the CIA.
So who was the original "senior administration official" who told Novak about Plame? Could it have been disclosed somewhere and I missed it? Is it Libby, despite his denials? (Did he lie to the media,
har har har!)
Or is there someone else, somewhere, either currently or formerly of the Bush administration (and likely part of the White House Iraq Group) who is facing an imminent indictment?
Who is it?
