Each day the end of the empire comes closer.
Each day the death of the Patriarchy comes closer.
Each day the death of the first and last neocon administration comes closer.
Each day the end of the Kleptocracy comes closer.
Each day the departure of the lying bastards comes closer.
I give up- take your pick.
Take your pick of the title that satisfies you best, but it is clearly ending, and the world will be a cleaner, better place when it passes.
The good news:
* Our occupation of Iraq, which never should have happened to start with, is collapsing, and soon our guys and girls can perhaps come home:
* The people of Iraq will have a chance to begin to clean up the wreckage. Perhaps they will choose to do so- perhaps they will choose to spend their lives arguing over the number of Mullahs who could fight to the death on the head of a pin.
* Lobbying reform, republican style, is turning into such a joke that few people from either party will credit it as a real effort:
* Dick and Don have been Diddled by their Damned Dubai Deal! And Dubya ("Gee- I didn't know till just now!") eats it!
The not-so-good news:
* A lot more people will die before the neocons admit it was and is a disaster, and find some bullshit to hide behind while they boogie:
* Sunnis and Shiites will probably be no smarter than catholics and protestants in Ireland, or the protestants and catholics in Europe in the 16th century:
* We really needed lobbying reform. "Pay to play", Tom Delay style, makes a travesty of democracy:
* Almost every modern industrial nation recognizes that operating seaports, a crucial task for the security of the nation (as operating railroads used to be, back when we too had railroads) should not be palmed off on some blood-sucking corporation, no matter where it's based. We still don't get it.
Still, the news is good- unrelievedly bad for the dingbats in the whitehouse
