I just heard them announce that their replacement for
The Dan Abrams Report is going to be
Tucker Bow Tie Carlson. Yucky yuck. Not alone will he be on at primetime, but we'll have to dodge him twice -- he'll be on at 4PM EST and again at 6PM EST.
Abrams shuffles MSNBC schedule
Tucker Carlson, who joined MSNBC last year after a career at CNN, will move from 11 p.m. to airings at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., where The Abrams Report used to be.
Now we'll have a double sandwich of Tucker and Tweety blocking off four hours every evening. I suppose it could have been worse -- they could have moved raspy Rita into the slot. Or horror of horrors, they might have given wide-eyed hyena Norah O'Donnell a double slot or Joe Schmo Scarborough or his even worse sidekick whose name I can't remember.
But why not Keith Olbermann, did he not want to play bookends with Tweety?
There is one bit of good news in the Reuter's report:
Going off the air will be Rita Cosby: Live & Direct, which had been in the 10 p.m. slot Mondays through Thursdays...
[Abrams said] "This was not a decision driven...by the ratings for Live & Direct as much as it was the ratings of tape programming and the desire to have that balanced over the network," Abrams said Thursday night. Cosby won't have a regular show but will be what the network calls primary anchor of MSNBC Investigates as well as have her own Rita Cosby Specials unit.
