Over the course of the next two days I will be blogging (to the extent my schedule allows) to endorse the candidacy of
Ed Helm for Mayor of my town of St. Petersburg, Florida. Election day is tomorrow and the time for change is drawing near.
The mission of taking back our country starts at the local level and the charge will be led by people like Ed Helm. [
ed.--what? Not the guy from The Daily Show? Name misspelling corrected.]
Tomorrow voters will have a clear choice:
Do you want a mayor who alienated himself from voters by serving as co-chair of the Bush-Cheney 2000 campaign as the current mayor has done, or do you want Ed Helm--a career civil rights attorney--who will represent all the people?
Do you want a mayor who has accepted huge contributions from deep-pocketed developers and special interests, or do you want Ed Helm, who has energized the city, and has been funded by people like you and I?
Do you want a mayor who has ignored the city's poor education system as the current mayor has done, or do you want Ed Helm, who has a plan for investing in our city's schools?
Do you want a mayor who insists on understaffing St. Petersburg Police Department, or do you want Ed Helm, who is committed to making sure the police department has the resources it needs to keep our streets safe?
Tomorrow, when you go to the polls, you will have to answer these questions. And the answer is clear. Tomorrow we start down the long road of re-claiming our community. Tomorrow we start with Ed Helm.
This message has not been endorsed by the candidate Ed Helm.
