Bush claims to have 6 million supporters, who have written 28,000 astro turf letters to newspapers through his website.
Fine. That's impressive.
However, his math shows a Progressive groundswell in this nation.
If Bush has 6 million, writing 28,000 pieces of astroturf ...
Then Howard Dean, whose campaign has produced 70,000 letters, actually has 15 million supporters.
15 million! Wow. But it gets better.
Dean's letters are hand written, which takes more time. Let's say it takes twice as much time as hitting the send button on a computer (gracious in Bush's favor, to say the least).
So, Dean's letters are worth 140,000 of Bush's letters ...
Which means Dean has something closer to 30 million supporters. Yeesh.
And that's without even considering that nearly half of Bush's letters were actually Progressives hijacking the astroturf system to argue against his policies. So, he really only sent out 14,000 letters to newspapers.
If 6 million supporters wrote 14,000 astroturf pieces, then Dean's 140,000 "pieces" mean that ...
DEAN HAS 60 MILLION SUPPORTERS.
However, Dean supporters have to get their own stamps and address their own envelopes. They even have to compose their own letters.
That probably knocks down the participating sub-group by a factor of 5 or so, relative to the point and click Bush e-mail method.
Thus, with a factor of 5, Dean's letters are actually worth the same amount of work as 700,000 Bush "letters" AND ...
DEAN ... HAS ... 300 MILLION SUPPORTERS.
We don't even need an election.
