Evening, all. Well, I have just witnessed something extraordinary. Jon Stewart was gushing about Richard Clarke's testimony on The Daily Show (the 7pm repeat of last night's show). Coming out of his socks, even. Urging every viewer to find a transcript. I haven't seen him this partisan (in the best sense of the word), like, ever. There was genuine passion in his endorsement of Clarke. That's just awesome. He promises to have more on the testimony tonight at 11 (ET).
By the way, today I tried to get Clarke's book in downtown Portland---it's sold out. They told me it sold out yesterday. This has blockbuster written all over it.
In case you missed it, here's a recap of today's Cheers and Jeers. The poll has prompted some great stories about reciting the Pledge in school, so check it out. And, by the way: With the Dean endorsement, the Kerry & friends shindig, the Bushies on the defensive, the promising polls, Pelosi's support for gay marriage, and Kerry's successful $10 million in 10 days...it's been a great day to be a Democrat. And, dammit, a great day to be a card-carrying LIBERAL. Now click here:
