The Ford Motor Company was nice enough to respond to an email I sent through the Environmental Defense Action Network, saying all the things they are supposedly trying to do about fuel consumption and global warming. Unfortunately, while polite, there are full of crap. So I sent them this letter back.
"Thank you for your reply. Frankly, this sounds like too little, too late. Honda and Toyota are rolling out their third generation of hybrid cars already, and I doubt American car companies will ever catch up. Furthermore, the automotive industry has lobbied extensively against higher mileage requirements, closing the ridiculous loopholes for SUVs, and higher gas taxes to cut down on oil consumption. Much of the money that we spend on foreign oil goes to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the Sudan. Some of this money is then routinely funneled to Islamic terrorist organizations and the Iraqi insurgents. When you lobby against measures that will reduce fuel consumption YOU ARE KILLING AMERICAN SOLDIERS. Please stop being part of the problem, and dedicate yourself to being part of the solution. Thanks for your time."
