What is one of the things that is so appealing about G.W. Bush to the Neo-Cons, yet is one of the same things that repulse the Independent thinkers? His arrogance.
It is amazing how some will follow man to the fires of hell. Even with all that this administration has been caught doing, from the outing of a CIA agent, to warrant less wiretapping, these people will not let their allegiance to this man. Now that the polls show Bush and Cheney's numbers at a all time low, that should worry us more. There was a point in time, as a matter of fact a couple times, when the numbers looked like Bush was all but gone and he came back strong. The question is, how?

The Answer is fear.
They have kept the average American in fear of the Al Qaeda boogieman throughout the rein of this cabal. You may be saying to yourself, "Self, this guy is nuts, there is a terrorist group called Al Qaeda." And I would say, you are right there is a terrorist group called Al Qaeda, and they get way to much credit from this administration. The problem from my vantage point, is that it is thrown in the face of the American people at every turn.
Now as for the title of this diary, "35 Thing That Should Have Brought This Mad Man Down," I am referring to the thirty-five Executive Orders that that Bush signed for the Wiretaps. He has admitted to doing this even thought it is against the Law, and that God-Damn piece of paper The Constitution. He stood before the American People and the world and said, I broke the law. (Well ok, that's not what he said, but it is what he might as well of have said.) And the congress said oh ok, and the people said that's alright just stop the boogieman. Then the press said, we got you, you broke the law. Oh wait, what's that, you have the power to do that,
BECAUSE YOU SAID SO! Oh alright, besides I think there's another Blond Girl missing or something. As you can probably tell I have lost faith in the Main Stream Media.
Also the congress should have said right then and there, let's investigate this and start articles of Impeachment. If not then, now. If the will of the people is strong enough that they have had it with the administration antics, proceedings should begin. The numbers show that it is time for the congress to step up and start the process. The Resident does not have to be found guilty of the charges for the congress to start the process, only suspicions of the misuse of the office. Remember Bill Clinton, and BJ gate? So my advice is to put the heat on your Congressman or Woman. The proceeding takes time, but the Resident can still be Impeached even after he is out of office. We need to set an example or we will live with this type of rule for ever.
One more thing, I see all of these post on DKos from Congress people and senators, so let's ask them why they have not brought this up. There is only 2 reasons I can think of; 1. They are intimidated by the threats of being known as unpatriotic, and not backing the troops if they go against the administration, or 2. They are complicit with the administration in their plan to take the rights of the American people, while building the One World Power for a rule under the PNAC agenda. If the reason is the first then get the hell out and let some one in with the balls to do it. (Sorry ladies.)
Now on top of this we are finding out that the Resident is going after the press for reporting the Leaks dealing with the Plame case, the NSA, spying, and the Dubia port deal. The administration has gone as far as to say they are going to bring them up on charges of espionage, and sedition. WAPO
"There's a tone of gleeful relish in the way they talk about dragging reporters before grand juries, their appetite for withholding information, and the hints that reporters who look too hard into the public's business risk being branded traitors," said New York Times Executive Editor Bill Keller, in a statement responding to questions from The Washington Post. "I don't know how far action will follow rhetoric, but some days it sounds like the administration is declaring war at home on the values it professes to be promoting abroad."
President Bush has called the NSA leak "a shameful act" that was "helping the enemy," and said in December that he was hopeful the Justice Department would conduct a full investigation into the disclosure.
"We need to protect the right to free speech and the First Amendment, and the president is doing that," said White House spokesman Trent Duffy. "But, at the same time, we do need to protect classified information which helps fight the war on terror."
Look this is pissing me off to the point that the next time I hear one of these assholes in Washington say, To fight terror, or because of terror, I will punch them in the mouth.
What they are saying is we will turn this into a totalitarian state, in the name of fighting the terrorist. And the people are saying yes do it, the freak'en boogieman is coming. Damn it that pisses me off!
Last night I was watching "Count Down" with Keith Olbermann, who in my honest opinion, has one of the biggest set in the industry. Anyway while doing the segment on this story, he ask if the sedition act was brought back? Hey Keith, it never went a way, "Only the name was changed to arrest the innocent." It is now in the Patriot Act, and it was taken from the 1940 Smith Act.
As I see it, in it's struggle to hold the power this administration, will silence it critics, and hold all stories of the illegal actions by threat of imprisonment.
So as the administration and the right-winged pundits of the airwaves who try to build up the hate for teachers and media that point to the truth about what this administration is doing, form it's spying on the citizenry of the United States, too the threat of imprisonment of those who speak against them on quest for total power. it is no longer a stretch of the imagination to say there actions resemble those of The Third Reich.
