I signed up for the George W Bush for President campaign email list so I could track their rhetoric. Here's what a recent message to me said. Please, note, I am not backing George W Bush. There's no way to sign up for his newsletter while registering your complete and utter opposition to his campaign.

Your enthusiastic support for the President has made his re-election team the largest grassroots campaign in America, and we're still growing. Recently, we recruited over 7,000 new Bush Volunteers from all across Iowa. But we still have a ways to go.

While our campaign is picking up momentum, the Democrat candidates for President are stepping up their attacks. For the last several weeks, in their desperate bids for the nomination, Democrat nominees have launched outrageous assaults against our President. Already they have questioned his patriotism, described him as the "enemy," and even called for "regime change" here in the U.S. And they are just warming up.
To blunt these unfair and shameless attacks, the President will need an army of committed supporters like you. Please help today by signing up as a volunteer to become involved in the President's re-election campaign.

Mark, thank you for everything you do for President Bush. With your help, I am confident we are headed toward victory.
Sincerely,
Ken Mehlman
Campaign Manager
The president is concerned that the Democratic candidates' attacks on his presidency are unfair or unfounded. This from a man who has never attended a funeral for one of the soldiers he sent to die in Iraq. The man's economic policies have created the largest deficit ever. He attacked a sovereign nation for no justifiable reason. His policies have led to the greatest loss of jobs ever known under any presidential administration. He has initiated a significant reduction of civil liberties for American citizens. Despite his pledge that he was a uniter, not a divider, and that he would seek bipartisan cooperation in his administration, he has presided over one of the most divisive, partisan administrations ever known. He pledged to support public education, and his program, ironically named "No Child Left Behind," has been grossly underfunded, leaving many children with no reasonable access to a basic education. His environmental policies have all but decimated any regulations against corporate pollution, leaving the worlds biggest polluters free to poison our air and water. His promise to provide funding to address the AIDS crisis has been broken. A high ranking member of his administration illegally and maliciously leaked the name of an undercover CIA agent, and he has aided and abetted the continued concealment of this traitor. (Ironically, it was his father who fought so hard to make the outing of a CIA agent a federal offense.)
I will gladly and wholeheartedly support any Democratic candidate for president who presses the court appointed president (the same man who went AWOL from the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam war) for explanations of any of these issues. Any Democratic candidate who does not attack Bush and his administration is not worthy of the nomination. Bush is unqualified and undeserving of the office to which he was appointed by the Supreme Court in 2000.
