So a host of right-wing Bush apologists, both in Congress and in the media, are castigating the NYT (but not the WSJ or the LAT, oddly enough) for publishing "secret" information about how the Bush Administration snoops on Americans' private financial records. And prominent right-wing Republican pundits like
Melanie Morgan want to execute the NYT's Bill Keller over this. (And no, MSNBC has not banned her from appearing on its shows because of her horrific comments, because as Atrios says,
there is literally nothing a conservative can do that will cause the US press to stop sucking up to him or her. Nothing.)
Well, if Little Melanie wants to execute people for revealing that particular "secret", she'll have to start with members of the Bush Administration, who talked openly about it in front of Congress back in 2004.
Ooooops. Watch the wingnuts backpedal! (That is, if they acknowledge this at all. Which most of them won't. That would require morals and honor.)
