So on Thursday, the GOP controlled congress, by a vote of 208-204, raised the amount of debt we carry by 800 billion dollars.
Once there was a law- a law that stood for 87 years. The law said the US Government could not exceed the debt. The law was bent for Social Security, then for the civil service retirement accounts. Now the law is broken, routinely.
I think its just great (Sarcasm) that the GOP intends to crack down on dead beat credit card holders who file bankruptcy when they are a few thousand dollars in debt- those lowlifes, while they run up astronomical debt by lowering taxes and refusing to cut spending. That says a lot about where we are headed.
