Our local newspaper today reports that opinions are divided about participation in the May 1 Great American Boycott:

In a community that is more than half Hispanic, local LULAC organizers are trying to find some way to carry out the boycott but not alienate potential supporters. But asking people not to spend a penny at any "American-owned" business may be too blunt an instrument.
The proposed boycott doesn't differentiate between supporters and opponents of the rights of immigrants and civil rights in general. Republicans are not the only "Americans" who own businesses.
And at what point does a business become "American-owned"? Isn't a Mexican-American family that has lived in the US since 1848 "American?" Isn't their business "American-owned," or is the directive of the boycott to discriminate along racial lines?
I'm pretty sure the boycott isn't going to actually happen around here, for the specific reason that Anglos and Hispanics have been peacefully coexisting, combining their cultures and their families for decades; and what sounds good on paper has a completely different meaning when translated into local practice.
What do you think will happen in your community?
