I know this might not be too popular...but I have to say it. I think the Blue State boycott, while a good idea, is executed poorly.
Here's why. Just going by the raw percentages of what companies donated to politicians is to ham handed to know what is really going on.
For example, a company that might have a 40-60 Rep to Dem ratio could be donating to those members of Congress who support easing restrictions on environmental laws, or using child labor overseas....
Also, you could have two companies that have an 80-20 ratio but in one case a comapny gave $3 million and in another one gave $20,000 (all to the elected officials in its home state).
Another example. A company could have given 100% to Dems, but that Dem was Zell Miller.
I think you get the idea. The problem is that a much more sensitive examination is needed and the speed of the internet doesn't allow for such things.
Oh yeah, and in order for it to be an offical boycott, the company being boycotted actually needs to know they are being boycotted....
A better soultion would be to pick out four truely evil corporations, target them for a blue state boycott, hit them hard across the country (Sinclare anyone?) and sacre the living hell out of the rest.
