Ken Lay got away with frittering his employee's pensions away but thankfully he's now giving us the opportunity for a little payback. Yesterday the Houston Chronicle reported that
Ken Lay is taking his PR case to the web in the form of Google, Yahoo and AOL word ads.
For example, if someone types "Ken Lay" into Google, the top sponsored link comes back:
Ken Lay Information
www.kenlayinfo.com Comprehensive Database Of Articles & Info. Learn The Truth.
And why is Ken Lay so interested in his reputation now? Well, his litigation team thinks his character could use a little revamping before he stands trial and who knows, maybe a potential juror will read the distortions on his site before being selected and be a little predisposed towards his alleged innocence.
Each and every time you click on the link, Ken Lay must pay between 5 and 12 cents. So go to Google, Yahoo, or AOL and type in Ken Lay and then click on the sponsored link. The more you click on the link, the more Ken Lay pays. Plus, the more popular a search term becomes the more the link costs Lay. Other search terms I found that bring up the same Ken Lay disinformation site are: Enron, Enron scandal, Enron fraud, and Linda Lay.
Sure it's just nickel-and-diming him and he can certainly afford it but why not cost the man who caused so much pain to working families a few thousand bucks?
