Someone suggested in McJoan's FP story on the McCaskill/Talent race, that someone do a diary on it. Last time I checked no one had, so I thought I would give it a try.
I received a letter today from Claire's campaign in response to my recent contribution. I have set it out below.
Dear ___,
Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my campaign for the United States Senate. You obviously understand how important it is to receive financial support for our effort. I am determined to raise enough funds to get our message out and keep Missourians focused on returning Harry Truman's Senate seat to someone who will be a strong independent voice for change.
This race is important for Missouri and our country. Washington D.C. is spiraling out of control as disconnected priorities saddle future generations with trillions in debt and weak polcicies fail to address the needs of American families. It's time for a Senator on our side, standing up for Missouri's families.
I am working hard to become that strong voice of reason in Washington. I am fighting for Missouri values by challenging Jim Talent on the issues that Missourians care about most: a commitment to providing strong leadership when it comes to our nation's security, creating solutions to our nation's growing energy crisis, the need for quality healthcare for all, and the promise that our leaders will be held accountable to the people they serve.
I hope you will continue to help in any way you can. For my part, I will continue to work as hard and as smart as I know to win this election. Thank you for your confidence. I will not disappoint you.
All the Best,
Claire McCaskill
The recent poll shows this race is winnable for McCaskill. But she is behind in the money count. Please, if you can spare some change, give to this race. I plan to give a little each payday until November.
