I have just finished writing a letter to the President that I am sending out in the evening snail mail to the White House. I thought I would share it with you. It is a curious phenomenon to feel so brazen in the front of someone who is president of the United States, but when someone is as small as George Bush, all the dimensions of what is large and small fall out of alignment.
With the release of the tape that documents your performance during the Katrina debacle, we have moved yet another leap forward in the assessment of your capacity to discharge the great office you hold. I would argue that when a depth of incompetence is sufficiently plumbed, that is, your performance during the reading of My Pet Goat as the World Trade Center collapsed and your inaction before the destruction of New Orleans and the lies after it, comparisons really are irrelevant. Was the President's performance worse here or worse there? It's kind of like asking whether it would be harder for me to get to Jupiter or Saturn. Since I cannot get to either one, the question essentially is ludicrous. Both performances are so far below even the most minimal expectations of basic competence, the nation now has moved into the realm of silly questions like what happens when the immovable object meets the unstoppable force.
For your own good and for the good of the nation, I plead with you to resign the presidency.
Sincerely,
