Here's an argument to use with people thinking about voting for Bush:
Only Kerry will deal responsibly with Iraq.
Win or lose the election, Iraq won't be Bush's problem.
If Bush loses, Kerry will be saddled with the disaster.
If Bush wins, he'll forget about it. He'll walk away. He'll lose interest. Why should he waste his beautiful mind on Iraq? After all, he won the election. Iraq really won't affect him anymore.
How do we know this? Six months after 9/11, Bush has already forgotten about Osama Bin Laden. In March of 2002, Bush said this about Bin Laden: "Who knows if he's hiding in some cave or not; we haven't heard from him in a long time. .. So I don't know where he is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him, Kelly, to be honest with you." http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/03/20020313-8.html
Think about it.
For his whole life, Bush has been able to put his failures behind him and move on to his next failure.
The only reason Bush pays any attention to Iraq is because of the election. If he wins in November, he won't have to face the voters again. He's home free. Iraq, like Afghanistan, will just fade away for Bush and the corporate media, though not for our troops and the Iraqis.
When it comes to Iraq, the choice this November isn't between who has a better plan for the Iraq war. It's a choice between someone who will take responsibility and someone who won't.
