On another message board, I had raised
some concerns last night about the potential loss of life Katrina would have caused, before it changed course and spared the people of New Orleans.
I actually didn't want to politicize it, just point out how things came to be with the budget cuts and past experience from Hurricane Ivan, but Republicans jumped on me for blaming Bush, even though I never even mentioned him in the post!
Now the Republicans are at it, trying to make this political.
More below the fold.
This one dude in particular jumped over my line of "massive graveyard" in describing the Superdome. Hey, at the time, that looked like what was going to happen, and I was worried sick about the people inside. But he uses that line to mock me:
"Mass graveyard"? According to a report I heard 15 minutes ago, there is some mist that is making a part of the interior of the dome wet. And this insnt a Catagory 5 - its a 4. Absent some move by the evil Republican administration, it is not a graveyard yet.
There will be plent of time after the cleanup starts to claim that the Bush Administration could have spent $100 billion just last year to end all suffering in North America and on the science of "Hurricane Prevention."
Never mind that I wrote it last night, before Katrina changed direction.
Then the guy starts a NEW thread just to mock my use of the term:
"The Superdome is not in any dangerous situation," Gov. Kathleen Blanco said.
The "Massive Graveyard", made possible by budget cuts of evil Republicans (take you pick: Congress or Bush) has been averted.
These people will stop at nothing to mock national disasters.
