It's clear at this point that political corruption in Ohio is rampant among Republicans, and it's increasingly obvious that Democrats seeking office in 2006 would be smart to stick to the simple message that they're aiming to clean up the system. Not much else needs to be said. KISS.
With that in mind,
Linwood Campaign Services has started the
Contract With Ohio initiative.
The Contract:
We pledge to be good stewards of your tax money and help rebuild Ohio as a place where people want to live and work.
We pledge to end pay for play politics and regain the trust of people in their government.
We pledge to end the culture of corruption that has plagued the state and return government to the people.
We pledge to work hard for all Ohioans, not for the special interests.
We pledge to listen to all of our constituents, making their priorities our priorities.
Democrats have to be on the offensive for the next year. Republicans will always have excuses and scapegoats, but we can't let them. They're caught in this state, dead to rights. There will never be a better opportunity to retake Ohio. Getting every candidate on the same page is a necessity, and this is a great way to accomplish message discipline.
