I admit I'm a wee bit paranoid about this administration's ability to interfere with the free flow of information, so in that spirit I ask what the hell is going on this morning with my fav blogs? I've tried to go to crooksandliars--no luck. Tried to go to firedoglake--no luck. Tried to go to americablog--no luck. Seems those websites cannot be found! So, here I am at kos trying to make sense of this.
Over the weekend, we learned from our esteemed Attorney General that reporters may have their phones tapped in an effort to keep them from leaking "classified" information, and they and their sources may be prosecuted under a law that Gonzales said would apply "when carefully read." I bet. Anyone reasearch that law yet?
These crooks are ripping apart the Constitution thread by thread and are openly proud of doing so. Gonzales sounds like the dictator of a bannana republic. This is the same guy who said torture is ok.
What I hope happens now is that the journalists who have cowered or so long will finally get so pissed at what's happening to them that they'll fight back. Brian Ross of ABC News was on the radio last week with Amy Goodman on Democracy Now. He was telling her about the chilling effect of the government's threats to both his profession and also those brave informants who care about our freedoms and blow the whistle on this corrupt government.
So, now what. Do we storm the bastille? Do we sit in our homes waiting for the next shoe to drop. Somebody needs to tell me what to do!! I just don't know anymore!
