The Truth About John Edwards
Wed Dec 27, 2006 at 05:44:12 PM PDT

I write this diary, with few words just facts. Below are blocks of comments by Wes Clark Jr. written just weeks ago about John Edwards. To silence all the Edwards kool-aid drinkers I posted a few facts about the real John Edwards.
A couple things led me to believe this. First, I believe he (Edwards) is fundamentally dishonest. During the campaign when he questioned my father's integrity with the Hugh Shelton smear. His next smear was that my dad was somehow beholden to lobbyists and that lobbyists were destroying our political system (he neglected to tell his audience that his campaign manager was a HUGE lobbyist or that he raised enormous sums of money through the trial lawyer lobby. --Wes Clark Jr.
As for why an Edwards/Clark ticket won't happen? I think the man is a snake oil salesman who would ruin the country. --Wes Clark Jr.
John Edwards was a co-sponsor of the 2002 GOP Iraq War Resolution. [1]
John Edwards did vote for the 2002 GOP Iraq War Resolution. [1]
John Edwards did hire Gen. Hugh Shelton to swift-boat Clark in '04. [1][2][3][4]
John Edwards did vote for the Patriot Act. [1]
John Edwards was listed as a member of the DLC Leadership. [1][2][3][4]
As for Edwards IWR mea cupla, why did it take so long? The Iraq policy was a failure during the last election cycle, all the information about how the Senate was snookered by the administration has been around since 2003. Why the sudden change of heart? More importantly, how does calling for 40,000 troops to be withdrawn mean anything other than making life harder on the 100,000 who remain? --Wes Clark Jr.
