"Now that Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry has all but sewn up the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, much attention is being paid to his campaign's search for a running mate." According to a new Gallup poll, 30% want Kerry to pick Sen. John Edwards. All other possibilities are in single digits. The big surprise, however, is that 35% want Kerry to pick "no one."
The Charlotte Observer reports that "a survey of party chairmen in 14 Southern states found strong support" for Edwards. "Eight prefer him. Others like their home-state favorites or say they'll leave the decision to Kerry."
