We all know how Republicans win elections. They scare people into believing that if they don't vote for the Republican candidate then the sky will fall. As much as I hate to say it, we need to learn something from their playbook. More below.
Bill Clinton said, "There's nothing that's wrong with America, that can't be fixed by what's right with America."
I always loved that quote because it acknowledges problems, but presented hope. That's what we need right now. Hope. But before we can have it, we need to scare the heck out of every swing voter out there. How do we do it?
We tell everyone how bad things are going to be. I know we've been doing this, but it's time to do it the way the Repulicans do it. By manipulating truth to maximize exploitation of facts. Fact: The US is going into debt very fast. Scare: If we don't do something now the economic sky will fall on the babyboomers just as they begin to retire, which they won't be able to do. Hope: Only by raising taxes now, do we have any chance of avoiding serious crisis.
I don't care what we use to scare people into to voting for democrats. We don't have to use the country's massive debt. We could use the civil liberty argument or the international reputation argument, but I'm not sure they would work as well.
My point is, we should be exploiting the future of America because it's not looking nearly as good as it did 6 years ago.
We must stop just bringing this kind of topic up. We need to start scarying the public into believing if they don't vote for Democrats, they're going to be sorry. We need to scare them, and we need to start now before Right-wing echo chamber heats up for November.
I can't say it enough, we need to sock them while they're on the ropes.
And then we should had a little hope if people vote democratic. A chance to save the nation, if we act in time. Take the gloves off, and start fighting for this country's powerful Congressional seats. And after we win a majority, heat it up more.
That's the Republican way, and we need to figure out how to be better at it than they are. Maybe we are, and maybe this diary is dated. But I just still feel like I'm waiting for the real words to start being shouted.
