Here they go again.
Melanie Morgan, radio talk show host, is up on Hairball right now calling Bill Keller a traitor for publishing the story about the secret government program allowing the administration to track our banking records in order to git the terraists.
Same with the NSA wiretapping program revelations. Reporters informing the public about secret and illegal government programs should be "tried for treason and sent to jail for 20 years," she screams.
What about revealing the identity of an undercover CIA agent working on WMD programs? Al Sharpton replies in a reasonable (!) tone. Doesn't that have more bearing on the safety and security of the American people?
"But Karl Rove broke no laws" in revealing the name and identity of a covert CIA operative. "It was a covert CIA operative and there is no evidence that Valerie Plame was ever a covert CIA operative." I believe that is her exact quote. WTF?
At least I am glad to see Al Sharpton represent us on Tweety's show for once. The Reverend usually just irritates the bejeebus out of me. He has really got his knickers in a twist and is calling her out on her BS and the hypocrisy of these people.
After the first few minutes of the program, in which they played clips of today's latest staged outrage by the Boy King, Dick Voldemort and Tony Faux regarding how despicable it is to report on the finance tracking program, I knew it would probably be bad.
"All they can bring up is Valerie Plame and Plamegate...it just shows us how bereft you people are of patriotism," Morgan continues. "Who are we as members of the media to determine what is or is not important to report?" She actually said this out loud.
That about sums up the whole sorry thing. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who actually believe this crap.
Thanks for letting me vent. Now I have to change and get to a Democratic township meeting to promote my candidate for State Senator. If it weren't for these events, I would probably have had to squoggle my throg until all I could wopple was geep quite some time ago.
(And to think that after a week of suffering through that Whore of RepubBabbleon, Nora O'Donnell, I was really looking forward to Tweety's return.)
In other news, Chris Matthews will be appearing on Stephen Colbert tomorrow night.
Carry on.
