Bring Them Home Now Tour
From Camp Casey, Crawford to Washington DC
From George Bush's door step to Communities along the way, We Demand That:
Elected Representatives Decide Now to Bring the Troops Home
We Take Care of Them When They Get Here
We Never Again Send Our Loved Ones to War Based on Lies!
On August 31st, the last day of the encampment, the Bring Them Home Now Tour will launch three buses from Crawford, Texas, each carrying military and Gold Star families, veterans of the Iraq War and veterans of previous wars. These buses will travel different routes across the country, converging in Washington, DC on September 21, for the United for Peace and Justice Mobilization September 24th-26th.
The tour will amplify the voice of Gold Star families, who show the devastating human cost of this war; the voice of military families, for whom each and every day that this war continues brings the potential for the most devastating of consequences; and the voice of veterans, who can share the ground truth about war and the impact on those who were sent off to fight it.
Over the course of the tour, members of the sponsoring organizations will reach out to military families, veterans, and concerned citizens in cities and towns in the heartland, the north, and the south. The Tour will spread the truth about the war in Iraq, mobilize people to Washington DC for September 24-26th and ask Congressional decision-makers the hard questions Cindy has asked President Bush and to learn what our elected representatives are doing to bring this war to an end.
The Bring Them Home Now Tour is sponsored by Gold Star Families for Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, and Veterans For Peace

Bring Them Home Now Tour
The National Tour will bring powerful speakers to your community to share information, stories and mobilize people into action. We want to bring the spirit of Camp Casey and the courageous act of standing up to those in power with our voice and our heart.
To make this successful we need your help. We need your community to:
Organize and publicize local events
Provide housing and food for the tour participants
Raise money locally for gas to the next stop and overall support of the tour
Follow-up with local media contacts, and help document the arrival and event
Gather the materials we need to erect a memorial many of the photos and materials can be downloaded from the website. We will be bringing some of the boots and photos and tents with us.
Some of the ideas we have for local events are:
1) Delegations to Congressional Representatives with the participants and local representatives Delegation to the District Offices of your congressional representatives to ask them:
What is the noble cause our loved ones fight and die for?
What are they doing to end the war?
How many more lives are they willing to sacrifice?
- Symbolic Encampments with tents, signs and food in a public space like your city park, a University Commons or the lawn of a church.
- Memorial Vigils we hope to create memorials along the way with photos of the Gold Star family members who have died along with photos of those who have died in your community, flowers, candles, boots and crosses.
- Interfaith Services.
- Meet and Greet Luncheon or Dinner with Gold Star families, military families and veterans from the Bus tour and your community.
- Rallies or Educational events at local churches, universities, community centers.
- Meetings with Editorial Boards.
- Caravans with the Tour to the next city or beyond. People have asked if they can join the Bus Tour. We have limited space in the main vehicles, but cars, vans, buses that you all organize are welcome to come along! The more self-sufficient you can be the better, if we begin to gather many vehicles the cities ahead will need to prepare for more support including camp ground
