The debt limit was raised in May last year by $984 billion to $7.384 trillion.
As of September 30th, there was $45.887 billion in debt not subject to the limit.
Assuming this is still the same, we can have up to $7,429,887 million in debt.
Since the 14th, the debt has been within $376 million of this limit. On the 21st, it was withn $44 million.
For comparison, during the previous 17 months, the national debt increased by around $1.9 billion per day.
Clearly, the GOP would rather have people ignore this until after they raise the debt limit in November.
