there are a couple of questions i'd like someone to ask mr. lieberman in regards to this self nomination & upcoming election:
first, he said just before the primary, that he understood the people of connecticut were trying to send him a message & he stated, "message received." i'd like to know what he thought that message was & how was he prepared to act on its reception?
secondly, i am curious as to whether he considered running for president as an independent. it is an important office too. why did he give up after being continuously distained at the polls? they were only primaries after all. why did he deny the country the option of his superior character & intelligence?
i have one other question. this one for connecticut voters of a certain age. a connecticut caller to c-span on primary night made reference to joe lieberman saying "18 years is enough for anyone" or "nobody should serve more than 18 years in the senate" when he was running against weicker, um, 18 years ago. does anyone from connecticut remember him saying such a thing?
