A critical advantage to timeless campaign websites (e.g.
DeanforAmerica.com) as opposed to election-specific sites (e.g.
JohnEdwards2004.com) is that they can continue to be updated after campaign's end.
In particular, campaign blogs can continue to be updated after campaign's end. Which is why I was more than bit surprised to read of John Kerry's (so-called) newfound commitment to the grassroots given his continued marginalization of the netroots. His blog, it appears, has been dead for months.
Kerry has become deeply fascinated by the task of rebuilding the Democratic Party from the grass roots up, say his advisers. He has hired a streetwise political organizer from Boston named John Giesser, the deputy to 2004 grass-roots organizer Michael Whouley, to run his political action committee.
If you were John Giesser and your candidate was interested in more than his (big) moneymen, wouldn't you at the very least keep Kerry's blog alive?
"I am a Social Security Democrat."
