In an article titled
Buzz around Gore fuels talk of another run for President, in the Finacial Times online edition today, Holly Yeager based in Washington drops this bombshell;
A poll released this week by the National Journal, a Washington magazine, shows Gore moving into fourth place when Democratic "insiders" were asked who had the the best chance of winning the the party's 2008 presidential nomination - up from ninth place in December.
This is highly significant, indicating insiders are starting to swing towards Gore too, thus proving he is fast becoming the "consensus" candidate who can unite the grassroots and the establishment wings of the party.
Party insider Donna Brazile was qouted as saying;
The buzz around Gore is only going to grow stonger as voter's are hungry for change. The want someone with stature, experience, and a passion for public service.
Why is this happening?
With Mr. Bush at record lows in public opinion polls - his standing damaged by the war in Iraq and problems at home - Mr. Gore's backers invoke what they see as a legitimate claim he holds in the office, after winning the popular vote in 2000.
This points to what I have been saying for awhile, that people are beginning to pine for what could have been, and that this will only grow stronger as Bush is inceasingly revealed for what he is. Electing Gore in '08 would allow the American people a "do over", both here at home and abroad. Allowing us to regain our self respect and the respect of the world, recasting Bush as a thief who used stole the election and used the tramua of 9/11 to stampede the people.
Proving my point, The Cris Matthew's show is touting Gore as I Write. Joe Cline says Gore is thinking about it. Others point to the fact that global warming is being taken seriously, Dems are worried about Hillary, and Gore was right about Iraq. They even point to fact that he could raise more money that Hillary, thanks to us.
