The D-trip has made clear it is interested in this race, but only if
Ginny Schrader could ramp up her fundraising efforts (which is understandable). When Rep. Jim Greenwood decided to grab a sweet K-Street deal and retire, Schrader had only $7K in the bank. Netroot fundraising efforts boosted that to about $40K in short order.
But she needed to raise over $500K before the DCCC would even consider putting in significant resources into a race that could easily cost over $1 million to run.
Her campaign reports that she's been pulling in $7-10K per day ever since, working the phones hard. If true, and if she can sustain that pace, then we've got a real battleground race on our hands.
More later.
