As most Kos readers have probably noticed, there are a lot of Canadians who post here. A large part of the reason for that is the fact there is no central focus for Canadian blogs, there is no equivalent of Kos or Atrios or America Blog. Instead, there are dozens of little blogs about politics in a country with a population of thirty million. In short, we have no central hub, no real focus of Canadian blogs and thus Canadian blogs don't have anything even close to the influence or respect of our American counterparts.
We want to change that...
In the last few days I received some emails from Canadian Kossacks inquiring about the possibility of making a `hub' for Canadian blogs. In return, I contacted most of Canada's center-left bloggers and sought out their opinions on the matter. Though most have yet to reply, all the responses I've received so far have been positive.
At this point, I'm wondering what it is that Kossacks (both Canadian, American and international) think makes the site successful? What is it that makes this the central focus for bloggers from all over the world? What would we need to create a successful Kos-like site in Canada?
