Looks like there's going to be a job opening perfect for Howard Dean in the near future!
I confess I've never been a Deanie, but I can't deny the impact that he's had on this race. The good Doctor has helped to reinvigorate my weakened party, and for that I am extremely grateful. He's opened up a donor base nobody has ever seen before, one that puts party leaders directly in touch with those who are most enthusiastic about the direction of the country. He listens, he hopes, and most importantly, he believes in his party.
I can think of no better job for him than the one currently held by soft-money man Terry McAuliffe.
Before the Dean Movement at best falls into line behind the eventual nominee or at worst dissolves into spoiler voting and Kerry-bashing, I would like to see the beginnings of a real effort from the netroots-up to see him become Democratic National Committee Chairman in 2005.
