In the debate today, only one person (Sharpton) alluded to a point that I believe is extremely important:
Just because one might disapprove of gay marriage doesn't mean they believe there should be a law against it, or that states shouldn't recognize them.
That's what really bugs me about all the polls that say, "Do you approve of gay marriage?" That question isn't the point. The polls should also ask, "Do you believe gay marriage should be illegal?" or "Do you disagree with states recognizing gay marriage?"
