Can anyone tell me exactly WTF Tom DeLay and a few of the other rethugs were talking about when they kept referring to the "X files" wing of the party in regard to the Ohio objections yesterday? I fully understand that they are "framing" the thing as crazy as they can. That's not my issue. My issue is this: A few of the wingers actually said that this "conspiracy" (i.e. that Bush/Rove were in the WH manipulating the vote like some mini-me evil genius plot) is the BASIS of the electoral election. I heard one guy even mention that it was "in the report." They also referred to some reverand. What is this?
I've actually followed the issue quite closely and I'm pretty damn sure Conyers didn't include in his report an allegations that some "vast right wing" conspiracy was immanating out of the White House.
So can anyone tell me where this came from. Direct me to some link that it might even be "loosely" based on? I find this relevent because it seems to me an outright lie like this must, to some extent, at least be addressed. (Or at the very least, I want my curiousity satisfied.)
Thanks in advance for any help.
