and that he will not run for VP (of either party) under any circumstances.

Can we please put all that nonsense to bed now. Let's win as Democrats!
oh - and I love his line about cherishing the ideals of the Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan.
Me - I also cherish the ideals of Lincoln - a man of honor who took responsibility for his actions and abhored use of claims like "states rights" to deny human freedoms and enforce slavery. I'm willng to bet he would find little to admire in today's GOP. If McCain intends to work to restore the GOP to honoring Abe's ideals - then I'm all for it.
In the meantime I'll work for the party of Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy. Informed by the ideals of Jimmy Carter and hoping to restore the economy as it was under Bill Clinton.
McCain isn't "the enemy" he's a basically good man. But the neo-cons must go and despite all his "flirting" - McCain says Bush "deserves reelection. Too bad. Guess he's not as "reasonable" as some thought, huh.
So let's stop drooling over him while ignoring his core conservative policy stances and focus on winning this election and taking our country back - as Democrats!
