Last week, the Rev. Jerry Falwell claimed that few evangelical Christians disagreed with the war in Iraq.
In that spirit, I responded.
Re: Evangelical Christian here
Dear Rev. Falwell,
On February 11, 2005 during the showing of Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes" you scoffed at
the reverend Jim Wallis when he stated that many evangelicals opposed the war in Iraq.
I believe in the tenants of the apostle's creed, essentially, the life, death,
resurrection and return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
I am a member of an evangelical denomination here in the United States, and I stand firmly
against the war in Iraq.
I stand firmly against baring false witness.
So, I stand firmly against this administration, and, sir, the facts lead me to stand firmly
against your statement.
In Christ,

Garrison Kellior put it simply, they are trying to be the party of the old testament with their thou shalt nots and their vengeful ways.
There appears to be no room for forgiveness from them, there is only revenge.
Christ said, "I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you....for if you love them which love you, what reward have you...do not even the publicans the same?" (Matthew 5:44, 46)
That is what we need to do to win, out neighbor our neighbors, love those who are persecuted, and bless those who are unblessable.
If so moved, I encourage you to submit your comments to Dr. Falwell, too:
