What will it take for the 60 million people who voted for George Bush to finally realize how dishonest his Administration has been?
The Bush Administration started a war in Iraq. They told us that the war was necessary because Saddam conspired with al Qaeda and specifically a 9/11 terrorist. Then documentation emerged that Saddam rebuffed al Qaeda's advances and never met Mohammed Atta. So the Administration finally admitted that Saddam didn't conspire with al Qaeda (although it took Vice President Cheney a while to get the message).
The Bush Administration told us that the war in Iraq was necessary because Saddam was trying to obtain nuclear materials from Niger. Then documentation emerged that Saddam never communicated with Niger. In fact, the documents were so poorly forged that they were laughable. They were told by several independent sources that the documents were forgeries but they ignored the information. Finally, they admitted that Saddam had no nuclear program and that the information was false.
The Bush Administration told us that the Iraq war was necessary because Saddam had weapons of mass destruction that could be used against the U.S. This sounded reasonable because the U.S. had given Saddam the WMD and Saddam had used some of them. But Saddam actually did dispose of the WMD after the first Gulf War and never had a delivery system that could reach the U.S. After much searching, the Bush Administration admitted that Saddam didn't have WMDs.
And the list goes on and on and on.
Now, it has come out that Bush was planning to go to war with Saddam in July 2001, well before the terror attacks on September 11. The media has ignored it. Nobody seems to be interested. So, what will it take for the 60 million people who voted for George Bush to finally realize how dishonest his Administration has been? Will it be something related to politics, or corruption, or personal integrity, or something else. What will be the wake up call for Kansas?
