Initial speculation about Dan Rather's replacement at CBS Evening News has spotlighted White House correspondant John Roberts. Wingers hate Dan Rather. But who's John Roberts?
Well, in September the right-wing Media Research Center spotlighted Roberts for his "bias" in calling George Bush a flip-flopper.

When the al Quaqaa ammo dump was found looted, Roberts truthfully reported the effect it was having on a deraged Bush campaign.

After the nomination of Condoleeza Rice, Roberts ran a critical report, mentioning that Rice "marched in lockstep with President Bush on the now discredited claim that Saddam was pursuing nuclear weapons."

Poke around any right-wing site like this and you'll find criticism of "biased" CBS stories ... but the ire will be turned on Rather, not Roberts.
Like I said in an earlier diary - let the right-wingers crow about Rather's retirement and the awesome power of bloggers. They'll be caught with their pants down if CBS appoints the likely Rather replacement - a reporter who cuts through the Bush administration's BS without the baggage of Dan Rather.
