Yearly Kos project: thank-you cards to Dozier and bereaved families

I don't know if anyone else has thought of this already; if so, I'll happily delete the diary. But the attack on journalist Kimberly Dozier and her colleagues, and today being Memorial Day, suddenly made me realize what I would really like to do with other convention attendees.
While in Vegas, I'd like to send some people some thank-you cards.
I'm not an official part of the YKos team, so this is a wildcat effort, but if it makes sense to you let's put something together. More in extended.
I put up a post on the diary announcing the attack on CBS journalists saying this:
I'd like to have cards available for people to sign at YKos that we can send to Kimberly Dozier and to the families of Paul Douglas and James Brolin with the simple message "We have relied on you/your loved one for accurate information regarding the situation in Iraq, and along with our sorrow we would like to express our appreciation for the work you have done."
And then it struck me: why stop there? As a group, we should be sending cards of thanks to the families of members of the military who have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan -- if you don't agree, you don't have to sign -- and well as to some of the politicians and public figures we've come to know and love here. Not petitions (though I'm sure someone will be doing that as well), just thanks from those of us at Yearly Kos. I'd like to get writer's cramp before I'm done.
If the organizers know of a reason that this idea is ill-advised, please let me know. I'll try to bring some stationery and stamps; others should please do the same. If you know of addresses to which cards of thanks should be sent, you can include them below.
