The link I will provide after the jump will be a time machine of sorts. We spend a lot of time grousing about what we've lost with the current standards of politics and the press. I feel that it is extremely important that we do not forget that image of what we're missing.

The link will take you to a Town Hall meeting of the world; a kind of debate between Gov. Ronald Reagan (R,CA) and Sen. Robert Francis Kennedy (D,NY). It is hosted by CBS News and broadcast from the BBC Studios in England. The questions are posed by international college students.
The discussion is vitally relevant to the here and now, and it is the kind of discussion we have been denied.
Reed it. Read all of it! Then ask yourself what is different between this event and any such events we see now. What allowed the past? What developed the present? Can we get back there? What would be the road map?
I don't write diaries too often. I don't really care whether I'm on the recommended list or not, I just want as many people (who have never seen it, or who have forgotten it) to experience what constructive dialog can really be like. Examine the quality of the politicians, press, and television event in this snap shot with what is going on right now in America, and then... try not to be angry.
I'm at work, so I won't have time to field many comments, but that shouldn't be necessary. All the same, I'm not completely selfless, so I will put out a tip jar.
