After this election, it seems like what we need to do is promote even more, the alternative voices that played such a leading role in reviving progressive future
The blogs do a great job, but we need to move more towards a full-fledged alternate media, which means video, sound, images, talking heads, etc
This alternate media could for example be embodied in Daily Kos Television or DKTV, but since it would be internet, not actual television, maybe DKIV Daily Kos Intervision
What I'd propose is taking the various creative individuals who produced so many ads, animations, videos, combine that with short video-blog-entries , where cogent short (< 3 min) presentations are made by bloggers and other new pundits, plus throw in live debates between bloggers on left and right (reality-based debates)
This could be all assembled into a browsable web-site, but more importantly into a regular (weekly to start, then daily), show that might be 1 hour in length. People could watch this on the internet, delivered as MP3. Similar to how people listen to Democracy Now or CSpan via internet.
This style of people's media, if well done could grow into a viable alternative to tv political reporting, and it could be assembled rather easily from contributions of legions of bloggers, ie if minimal standards are followed, not a lot of editing would be required, just sequencing, grouping the submissions.
College students would likely get involved in assembling this thing, since it gives media types a way to create something powerful without crawling up a corporate media ladder.
Viva la voz del pueblo!
