It is time for a gut check. On the day immediately prior to an election, you can usually get a feel for how it will turn out.
Now sometimes, these gut checks are massively wrong, but often times they are right on.
And my feeling is....
Wednesday's headline will be....
Lieberman will win the primary 51-49. Earlier, I had thought that Lieberman would be crushed by Ned Lamont, 65-35.
But alas, no. The polls show a substantial tightening in the race. Lieberman has not cancelled his ground GOTV game, and indeed has a pretty formidable one. Lieberman has given some good catering yet incomprehenible speeches regarding his stance and "opposition" to the War. He had, what I thought was, a good appearance on ABC's This Week. He raised his arms high with Max Cleland last night.
So Lieberman, it seems, has done all the right things to win this race in the final weekend.
On Wednesday, the netroots will be ridiculed beyond belief. It will be yet another candidate that we "young whipper snappers" failed to get across the finish line.
The Iraq War will be taken off the table as a major and deciding issue this November, for the media pundits can say that Democratic Primary voters have endorsed an unapologetic "stay the course" war supporter.
C'est la vie.

Wake up...wake up, yes that was a nightmare wasn't it? You can still change the future. It is up to you, courageous volunteers in the Constitution State. And it is up to you, loyal Democratic voters.
The choice is yours, do you want to see that headline or not?
