George W. Bush has won the
"Razzie" worst actor of the year award for his performance as president in "Fahrenheit 9/11". Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was voted worst supporting actor, while Britney Spears's fleeting cameo in the documentary brought her the worst-supporting-actress award.
However, their moments in Hollywood's dubious spotlight were eclipsed by Halle Berry, who actually turned up to receive her embarrassing title as worst actress of 2004, given by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation for her performance in "Catwoman".
Berry showed up to accept her "Razzie" carrying the Oscar she won in 2002 for "Monster's Ball." She is the first actor to show up to accept her award in person since Canadian Tom Green did for 2001's Freddy Got Fingered.
"Oh my gosh, oh my God," Berry said Saturday night, feigning excitement. "They can't take this away from me, it's got my name on it!" she said.
"I never thought in my life that I would be here, winning a Razzie. It's not like I ever aspired to be here, but thank you," she added.
Berry, who wore a simple black dress, explained why she showed up at the ceremony. "When I was a kid, my mother told me that if you could not be a good loser, then there's no way you could be a good winner," she said. However, she added, "I hope to God I never see these people again!"
