Okay, you've heard me comment in certain places here about the need to be able to 'bumpersticker' something. Of course, there needs to be a little extra behind it all but this is something I think could catch on fairly quickly and can be explicated as and if necessary.
"Look at the facts."
That's it. Nice and simple. True. Catchy.
The GOP is the party of smaller government. "Look at the facts. Bush and his GOP Congress have increased government spending, created a massive new bureaucracy, and complicated several government bureaucracies into catastrophes."
The GOP respects our military. "Look at the facts. Of our elected officials, who actually served? With whom are returning servicemen and women with an interest in politics signing up to run for office? Is a war of questionable need based on questionable data the best way to respect our troops? Bush and his GOP Congress have slashed VA spending."
The GOP believes in smaller taxes. "Look at the facts. Smaller taxes for whom? If you're rich, you don't care about the increased fees on government services but is this not a tax increase dressed up in different clothes? What about the fact that future generations will be paying more for today's profligate spending when with little pain we could be paying much of it? Maybe a better question to ask is what do I get for my taxes than simply how much do I pay. Look at the facts."
The GOP is the party of personal responsibility. "Look at the facts. Personal choices about sex, abortion, religion, entertainment, and many more areas will be lost because the GOP doesn't trust you to make these decisions for yourselves. They want to legislate your personal morality."
