I'm out of commission today. My wife and I are considering buying a house and are meeting with a home inspector today to review the current target of our affections. If the inspection comes up clean, we'll be making a bid on the home on Tuesday.
It would be our first home, and the prospects have me humbled, freaked, scared, excited, and overwhelmed. While the irregulars will keep things humming around here, here's a dump of interesting stuff I collected over the weekend.
- Marylin Musgrave is the first Republican to illegally use uniformed American soldiers as props for campaign rallies. Josh Marshall explains why it matters.
- C&L videos worth watching -- Jack Murtha: "The 'only people who want us in Iraq' are Iran, al Qaeda, and China". And (ugh) David Gergen: Bush worse than Nixon on secrecy.
- Man, that Hinderaker clown is sure great for a laugh. Anyone who tries to fisk a congressman based on gut feelings and the rambling voices inside their heads deserve nothing but scorn.
- Yawn. Another "Democrats hate Dean" story. Memo to reporters -- Dean is doing what he's doing in broad daylight, his name attached to it. Someone wants to nitpick, make them do so on the record. When I criticize Democrats, I don't hide like a chickenshit behind a reporter.
- The early voting numbers in TX-28 look good, but the real challenge will be Tuesday.
- Ha ha, Pennsylvanian columnist proves he won't be bullied by O'Reilly. He also proves that while O'Reilly likes to dish it, he can't stand to take it. In other words, he's a run-of-the-mill bully.
- Tom Friedman, revisionist.
- Alabam supreme court justice declares war on the Supreme Court. He's pissed he can no longer execute minors.
