Lay it all at his feet. This is what Baghdad must be like. No electricity, no clean water, looters run rampant, martial law. In fact, I think the more comparisons to Iraq, the better. The suffering are Americans this time. Not unlucky Indonesians. Not the infidel Iraqis. These people could be you and me.
Now, what is he going to do about it?
I think Katrina may focus a lot of attention on Bush. Who knows if the levees would have held if the money to strengthen them hadn't been diverted? Looks like all those hurricane impact models of New Orleans were right after all. What about global warming? Maybe those scientists are on to something. What about help for all of the flood victims? Why couldn't they get out of the city in time? Is aid going to be paltry? Why should it be? Why would you want to disable the largest port in the south with all the river traffic and energy concerns? I mean, why wasn't Bush more proactive when it comes to defending New Orleans? Is it too French?
Imcompetence? Vacation? Too much vacation? Who's running this damn joint?!
