There have been a lot of theories about the latest terrorist alert, whether it is a legitimate threat or a political ploy to distract Americans from talking about the largely successful Democratic Convention. But here's a theory that I have yet to see (credit my girlfriend):
The terrorist alert is part of a larger plan to provide military protection for corporate interests here in the United States.
This makes sense to me. We already militarize US corporations in other countries, with our taxpayer-funded American military protecting oil interests in Central America, the Middle East, Africa and everywhere else. Now we have images of American military guarding the IMF and other targeted buildings. I expect they are there for the duration of the presidential campaign. And this is probably just the beginning.
Are we looking at a future America where all large business interests are officially, physically defended by the Pentagon?
